The lack of gravity in space causes the human body to disintigrate. Astronauts spending just a few months on the ISS suffer massive muscle and bone loss. By the time they return to our planet they are so weak they have to carried from their capsules. How can humans hope to build a new civilzation if they arrive at a new world in this state?
Christophe Galfard explores whether the answer is to create an artificial gravity, which mimics the Earth's.
